The New York Times editorial board thinks Democrats should “move to the center.”

Where the hell is the center between democracy and fascism?

Today my mom was supposed to have come home from the hospital.

Instead we are making arrangements for her memorial service.

I am heartbroken.

Mom's coming home from the rehab facility in a couple of days! Yay!

She had a couple of issues post-surgery (hence her rehab stay), but so far the surgery seems to have worked. Keeping fingers crosses.

Mom's surgery went well. She's still in rehab hospital for now because she's still not at her baseline. She'll soon be out of the danger from the surgery though, which is a blessing.

Only time now will tell if we caugh the cancer early enough. But signs are good.

Decided to learn something fun along side the training and language courses. Since I'm a visual artist, and I don't have much experience in creating digital art, I signed up for a couple of courses to learn how to use digital art software. 1/2

Alliance members in the game I play started making fat jokes in game chat. "Nothing personal. Just a saying." They said when I called them out on it.

Had to log out of the game to get my head in the right space again.

It may not have been personal, it may have been...1/2

What would humans do if they had a universal basic income?

They would find meaning in all the things that society currently doesn’t value. Not because those things are inherently without value – but because markets don’t always accurately value all human endeavors.

If I have to explain to you why it's a bad idea to use a machine that makes shit up 15-80% of the time AND destroys the environment AND contributes to rising fascism and genocide AND puts brilliant skillful creatives out of work by stealing their work, then we're already speaking different languages

Sometimes I hop onto bsky and imagine what it would look like if all my friends’ basic needs were met by universal healthcare, guaranteed housing, and a UBI. All of which America can 100% afford.

@hmclarkeauthor.bsky.social I was looking at your books, and was wondering, considering the current negative climate surrounding GenAI, if you--or, if you utilize outside sources, they--use it to create the covers of your books?

I need to print out a copy of my novel, so I can do some deep edits on it.

But...I need to fix my printer first. Which means I need to physically lift it from where it's sitting so I can get to the mechanism. Sigh, I just hope I don't drop it and really break it while I move it.

NOTE TO SELF: Don't throw away all small plastic containers anymore!!!

Crap. Used to save small containers left from stuff like cream cheese to use with media in my art. I must've lost my mind the last time I cleaned cuz I yeeted all my containers, and now that I need one, I don't have any left!

I was looking at taking some free classes online for QuickBooks, but I'd still have to pay for QB, but there's no way in hell for me to pay for the $450+yearly pricetag for the subscription. Wish I could crowdfund that stuff, but never had any luck that way. Ugh...

WHY do I always fall in love with such long book series? I have a list that seems like it's a mile long of just 3 book series that I want to get...It's going to take forever for me to afford to pay for it all...at least until I start working again.
