Why is MN State patrol hovering over the stone arch in a helicopter

If you have a ring camera, you're actively helping fascism. It's great to get out there and protest, but getting rid of yours and convincing neighbors/family to get rid of theirs is arguably more impactful.

This is a Melissa Hortman appreciation account for the next 24 hours.
Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman remembered as funny, savvy and 'a true leader'
Friends and colleagues remembered her as grounded, kind and compassionate.

Terrible! What is it with county roads being the absolute worst in the city with no real plans to fix them?

Click through to see Regina's list of people to contact about this travesty of a plan.
The final concept design for Lyndale Ave is out and friends, it's really bad. They have a SHARED USE PATH on the east side of the street.

You don't put shared use paths in busy commercial areas, especially when this is in one of the densest neighborhoods in the entire state!

Disabled people are not expendable.

We’re not stealing your tax dollars. We aren’t lazy. We can’t “try harder” our way out of disability.

The Nazis started with disabled people for a reason. They knew no one would fight for us.

Want to resist? Engage in disability justice (and wear a mask!)

Minneapolis Park board continually fucking over their employees is awful to watch as a pro-labor constituent

Just a wild Minneapolis turkey standing on a car in front of you, asking you to love it

Sitting in a parked car at night after driving home feels like existing outside my body. Nothing is real, everything is liminal.

Reddit random is saying the stone arch will reopen July 21st, anyone know if there's any truth to that? Mndot still shows Aug 9th, but a girl can hope

Minneapolis needs these

We visited today and I'm a huge fan. I'm not a huge donut person tbh but we tried 5 kinds that were great.

I am however a big ice cream snob and their vegan lemon poppyseed? Incredible, better than 95% of dairy ice creams!

The space is beautiful. Outdoor patio, a fire pit area, comm garden!
Twin cities - has anyone been to the donut trap? Worth a visit?

It's bad enough that fireworks sound like bullets, but now they have to sound like bombs too? Not a fan of the big booms happening in my neighborhood rn

Hey Minneapolis birding friends - what are the best places to see cool birds in the city if you're close to downtown and don't have a car?

This is a brilliant idea and I'm trying to figure out who I could talk into coordinating if I could talk someone else into donating some seed money for it. I know a ton of people who worked for newspapers at some point but I think mostly they were writers, not editors.
Unironically they should buy up the domains for about 60 defunct local newspapers in swing states. Hire two reporters to write almost exclusively about highschool sports and new restaurants opening with every 10th article about how the local GOP is screwing over people.
NEWS:

Democratic mega-donors are debating plans to spend tens of millions of dollars on a range of influencer plans to "find the liberal Rogan."

We've got pitch decks, investor meetings, and internal docs.

One Democrat has a spreadsheet of 26 different proposals.

Criticism of all elected leaders, even your own, is an essential part of democracy. Feels like a lot of people want to protect their faves from that and it's not doing democracy any favors.

Have you been to the ER lately? Waited for a bed so they could admit you or a loved one?

This is going to cost more money and clog up the healthcare system more than it already is, this is not a serious plan.
Minnesota State Sen. Alice Mann (DFL-Edina) calls out the slashing of MinnesotaCare in the state budget:

"There is no fiscal responsibility when you do this. When we take away people's health care, they end up in the emergency department. It costs more money for everyone in the community."
