The DC shooting story is really getting to me because we literally trained this man as a child soldier for a death squad in a forever war and Stephen Miller et al want to blame it on other cultures? It's our culture, American culture, that killed that woman.

This was about 11 years ago... I was about 46, and it took me so much freaking courage to post this but it led to wonderful things, including people coming to this studio from all over the country to learn about my Peony Somatic Dance. Super cool. (And it has my fave band, Spoon so there's that.)

I am trying to retain a bit of hope that today could actually lead to justice. But I am also skeptical... the fabric of our country and the structure of "family" is woven with violence and misogyny and silencing on every level.

And it's a happy day when you wake up to this kind of news... There is hope in the air...
So many people were detained extrajudicially, were tortured, or died because of Dick Cheney. You can't get to the danger we're in now without everything he did. The weapons he helped forge are ones we need to take away from U.S. presidents forever.

I’ve worked with teenagers before but in a therapeutic setting. Last night was the first time I’ve worked with them at a dance school. And sometimes I wonder if my work works outside those therapeutic settings. But of course it does. They were a delight. Time just flew. 🥰🥰🥰 #peonysomaticdance #butoh
