Britain feels tired and run down.
It’s no wonder many feel angry, look for someone to blame and end up supporting the far right.

Our current government offers no hope or inspiration, continuing with its bizarre support of Brexit and crawling to Trump for crumbs.
We need change.
We need Europe.

this is the spirit. Gifford is right, this is what us Europeans expect from americans:

BE ANGRY.

Many European nations have revolted for less and it's been for just reasons.
The former ambassador to Denmark for the United States, Rufus Gifford, posted this video on his Facebook account:

🚨🚨Fascism, dictatorship, call it by the words you like- this is a complete constitutional breakdown of the United States as a modern liberal democracy happening before our eyes propelled by a madman & his crew but also importantly directly supported by many republicans & voters. Shame on you all.
There's a word for countries where it's illegal to criticise their leader
Trump at the DOJ: "I believe that CNN and MSNDC, who literally write 97.6% bad about me, are political arms of the Democrat Party. And in my opinion, they are really corrupt and they are illegal. What they do is illegal."

In seven weeks Trump’s America has shattered decades-long western norms and blindsided other western leaders with abrupt policy changes.

This is because many of the values of Trump’s America are not the values of western liberal democracies.

Perhaps some could ask Mr Vance to say ‘thank you’ to the British troops that served alongside America in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Vance tells Fox the only US security guarantee in Ukraine will be the mineral deal.

And he describes British and French peacekeeping troops as “20k troops from some random country that hasn’t fought a war in 30 or 40 years”.

Yesterday YouGov gave Lib Dems highest rating since Nov 2019.

Today More in Common gives Lib Dems highest rating since they started polling.

Which technically means it is true to say: BEST LIB DEM RESULT SINCE DINOSAURS ROAMED THE EARTH.*
Our latest voting intention: small Reform dip, Tories slightly up & Labour at post election low, but biggest shift is Lib Dems hit 16% their highest from us

🌳 CON 25% (+2)

Still, he will have served longer than 5 of the last 6 UK Prime Ministers.

I know everything feels grim right now but let's be realistic. These people are idiots. They're going to tank their economy. They're going to fuck-up every deal they sign. They're going to leave America looking shattered and deranged. And all those who supported them will look as idiotic as they are

By the way, Belarus is the only other country in Europe that uses First Past the Post.

We'd rather share a voting system with the world's most successful democracies, not a brutal regime.

For years we heard this bullshit about how the centre-left is alienated from the concerns of ordinary people. They're still banging on about it now. In actual fact, it's the press which is ignoring these matters while a centre-left government grapples with them.
