🌳Peers are back post-conferences, and first up today is a question about what the Government is doing to limit deforestation abroad, nearly four years after the Environment Act gave government the (unenacted) power to limit the import of commodities linked to illegal deforestation.

🌲🪵In 2021 the Environment Act was passed, which included powers to end the import of products linked to deforestation. Nearly 4 years later they have not been enacted. Today
Baroness Sheehan is asking the Govt about the delay and the steps they are taking

📰Yesterday P4P Vice-Chair Baroness Boycott wrote to @thetimes.com about her amendment requiring the Government to ensure that new and existing schools are adapted to climate risks like extreme heat and flooding.
The amendment will be debated in September where Govt will have to respond

Plastic pollution is a global problem that needs a global solution. Today Baroness Parminter is asking government what they are doing to ensure the legally binding global treaty, which was agreed necessary at @unep.org in 2022, comes to light.
