We must band together and fight this as a collective, but one of the most important things we can do as individuals is to not allow this poison to corrode us. We have to become stronger and gentler at the same time. We're drowning in a sea of cruelty and stupidity. We can't let it change us.

This is unfathomably shameful. How do we even have to debate this? Why would anyone ever again be so foolish as to trust or help the United States if this is how we treat people who risk their lives on our behalf?
