Luxon’s Govt: we are going to merge departments to make the public service more efficient.

Also Luxon’s Govt: please don’t notice as we spin this tiny part of Police into its own agency requiring Chief Executive and other overheads!

Most companies would be considered insolvent if they had a contingent liability that was 14 times their net assets!
What's deeply funny about this:

It's mostly tied to 10 year targets around robo taxis and Tesla sales figures he has zero chance of meeting.

So it's just pure delusion on all sides. 12 year old brains doing 12 year old 'cool' things all round.

Where’s David Seymour, that defender of private property rights, in the fireworks ban debate?
November 4, 2025 at 6:52 PM
I assume that Mr Peter’s bill will be extended to ban those things that really cost the tax payers and ACC. Things like car accidents, rugby injuries, tramping and alcohol.

Otherwise he is just being the family fun police!

The weak are always afraid of what that don’t control.
We live in a Māori nation. Our Parliament should reflect that more. The haka from the public gallery is an appropriate response to a maiden speech. Suspended Parliament only reminds Māori that they are not welcome to be authentically themselves there. #nzpol

The historically volatile Texas grid was entirely stable this summer, despite extreme temperatures. Grid operators never once had to ask Texans to conserve energy or shut off their air conditioners.

Why? Solar & batteries. Want a stable grid? Try solar & batteries.

Solar has set 17 power generation records in Texas so far this year, shoring up the grid alongside batteries as some gas plant developers step back.

I seem to recall the leader of the opposition spent much of the last half of 2022 calling on the then PM to announce the date of the 2023 election.

By his own expectations when will he announce next year’s election date?

Why is the current opposition not asking?
