New data shows that A&E waits for those in a mental health crisis have risen substantially.

Additionally, the mental health workforce has not grown enough to keep up with demand for services.

Hear from members at #RCN25 on how this impacts them and those they care for.

Finally, I started infliximab infusions - absolutely brilliant - but had to stop because surgery for #CrohnsAbscesses left me with open wounds so I can't sit down to get to hospital (transport) or for the infusions (3hrs). So, back to square one.

Waiting to hear what's next.

My truth? 17 years of symptoms; 17 years of dismissal by medicos resulting in scarring that is now irreversible.

Not until my private insurance (through my employer) and the death of an uncle from colon cancer was I taken seriously and was tested. Final diagnosis: #CrohnsColitis

Various meds over the years that didn't work. Steroids for flares resulting in #Type2Diabetes

Best thing I did during that time was have my periods stopped (thank you Mirena coil) as that reduced the number of flares.

Left England, relocated to Scotland. Was assigned my first #IBDNurse
