I was furloughed on the 8th & received my RIF notice today without any warning.My whole business unit eliminated.There is no reason to go about doing it this way except for the cruelty & the dismantling of government.I loved my job & was good at it, we worked hard,served w/integrity.So I start over.

So I’ve been told we all have to work in a shutdown even if we are considered “non essential”. I have no problem with this because we all are technically “essential”. This is a weird precedent to set though. How can you go forward with RIF’s then?

Yesterday was hard. People told to bring their equipment in & told to wait. Their Teams were disabled. They had to wait for an official email around 11:00am. Some got it & others didn’t. They were escorted out of building after waiting hours being told to expect cert letter in 1-2 weeks. So sloppy.

My daughter made it through yesterday because she is “essential” right now. Come May or June could be a different story.

There were a few today but Thursday & Friday are going to horrendous. I think I’m safe this round but it does not look good for my daughter.

Worried for my daughter today. She is a probationary employee with federal government(where I work). Took her a long time to get it, went through many hoops. She has been thriving here-she has ADD & probably is autistic so it was a perfect fit. 🤞🏼☘️

I don’t know if these will make a difference but it helps us to feel a semblance of control. Some small acts of resistance we are doing:
* making hard copies of all internal communications regarding EO’s.

Had to go private on several platforms & deactivate my other account on here. It’s been a really tough week as a federal worker. Everyday has been full of stress worrying about my job & to keep doing our job. We are already understaffed & have a hiring freeze.
