Streeting speaking to the NHS Providers conference. Could this be his David Brent moment?

“Um Well, there’s good news and bad news. The bad news is some of you will lose your jobs. I know. Gutting. Gutting. On a more positive note, the good news is I’ve been promoted*. So every cloud!”

Unlike Alice Thompson’s attack on Zack Polanski and the Greens, The Times appears to have closed Finkelstein’s piece to comments. I guess they know their readers!
Yes. This ludicrous phrase 'woke right' seems a fairly blatant attempt by people on the actual right to somehow associate the blatant & hideous racism they have ushered in - whether through complacency, incompetence or malice - with the people who warned it was happening.
Anti-racism is of course welcome but the nonsensical phrase “woke right” is a very clear sign that a writer as lost it

"This week the woke right took to saying that people who are black aren't properly British" complains Danny Finkelstein.

No, Danny, Douglas Murray, who you patronised, promoted and admired, has been saying *exactly this* for over a decade.

I hope the BBC ensure the film is made.

It is up to Reform whether they take part but this is an important story.

We can make up our own minds about Reforms constant dodging of media scrutiny and refusal to answer difficult questions.

“Middle class progressives” v upper class reactionaries?

The BBC has been taken over by middle-class brats
The BBC's problem is the same as everybody else’s: a critical mass of progressivism among the uni-educated middle class.

1/x Fascinating piece by @lewisgoodall.com Real insider knowledge and very depressing. For me this was the most intellectually coherent critique of the BBC’s constant platforming of the right. Until now I have had little time for this argument…

1/2 Charles Moore on the Today Programme alleges consistent BBC bias towards metropolitan progressive views. This is a consistent line from a well coordinated group on the right who are hostile to the BBC. In the memo Prescott even cites “History Reclaimed” an ideological reactionary campaign.

This shocking claim was treated as fact by the channel which promoted the clip on social media where it was amplified by AI.

Except... it's bollocks.

It’s so sad, reading social media posts about the train atrocity, that the first thought many seem to express is whether the perpetrators match their preferred narrative: that they are black, or white, immigrants, refugees and/or British or foreign, Muslim or Christian …. not about the victims, sad.

Please make sure you vote in the National Trust AGM election by midnight tonight. If you want to keep Restore Trust candidates as figures of fun (see below) and not elect them as reactionary, historical revisionist decision-makers, use the quick vote mechanism to vote (which will doubly annoy them!)
If you're a National Trust member, it's that time of year again: Midnight tonight is the deadline. It's a shame people have to keep doing this to keep a toehold on historical truth in this country, but here we are. Voting link: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/who-we-are/a...
