New York City is very unusual in relying on two person crews for the subway and should be moving over time to solo operations or automation, but the legislature passed a bill requiring 2PO forever.

Running this playbook (which didn’t really work in LA or Chicago either) is such a gift to Mamdani who’s going to be able to do unifying anti-Trump stuff that’s overwhelmingly popular with New Yorkers

Today at The Argument we're publishing something very different.

A mother in Georgia wrote to us after her IUD failed. Her email said:

"…if our policies weren’t so illiberal, I very well might have decided to stay pregnant." www.theargumentmag.com/p/an-abortio...
An abortion ban pushed me toward abortion
Is this what the pro-life movement intended?

1. “No Kings” rally

2. Benioff apologizing

3. Young Republicans getting suspended

4. Universities rejecting White House “contracts”

.. authoritarianism got something of a margin call this week.

Wonder if people outside the region understand the level of hatred Brewers and Cubs fans have for each other. It is nearly as significant, I'd argue, as Red Sox Yankees

That is going to be an outstanding series

In an ideal world Fed members would give 1-2 big speeches a year laying out their outlook and reaction function (like Miran and Bowman just did, as hackish as their pivots were) rather than lots of quick hit comments in response to the past week or two of data.
