It’s very noble of them to sacrifice peace, prosperity and democracy itself for clicks, eyeballs and cheap journo drama.
Well done to the broadcasters who have spent so long doing the PR for the far right in this country - I hope you won’t pretend it was nothing to do with your valiant efforts if we get a far right government- it is important that your contribution is remembered

I live in a nice part of London. We’re going to be swamped with all the smart interesting clever Americans fleeing President Trumpski and Comrade Musk. They’ll need to learn we don’t do earnest over here but apart from that, we’ll be fine.

I think I might become a born-again Christian just so I can really 100% believe that Trump and Elon Musk will be really going to Hell one day. At the moment I’m just living on a vague lapsed-Catholic hope that’ll be the case. It’s not quite enough.

It seems someone’s been sitting in Sheldon’s Spot. And he doesn’t like it at all.

You have to remember to Donald Trump everything and everyone - every bit of earth, sea, sky and air, every human soul - is just real estate waiting to be bought or sold. And only by him for his gain. That’s his landscape. Worldview. Narrative. There is no other.
Goodnight and good luck.

After over 100 years of the American Empire, the citizens are finally gulled into electing their first Emperor. It’s a big fat orange shame for them and the world it’s the kind of bonkers one who marries his own horse.

Interesting to come back to Bluesky after a month or so. It’s already perhaps 1.5% crankier, political and less in love with its own loveliness. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. It’s probably only apparent if you’re not here all the time.

Just coined a new word reading the first page of ‘Orbital’: Prizey. It felt right somehow.
BTW. Is it the thinnest volume ever to win? It’s remarkanbky short for a Prizey book, don’t you think? Maybe the judges were a busy bunch this year and couldn’t be doing with door stoppers.

You know yourself. Just fabulous.
Irish Film Classifications

PG: Mostly grand but sure you know yourself
12: Might be a bit of shifting
15: Shifting, implied riding, lads getting a box in the mouth, a few bad words
18: Riding, young wans in the nip, heads blew clean off, and the LANGUAGE out of them

If you ever wondered what it would be like for a truly funny real person to visit a centerparcs.. wonder no more. It’s like Samuel Beckett rewriting a riff by Lenny Bruce round at Peter Kaye’s place. Brilliant.
My first ever trip to #centerparcs in the UK - a live blog as it happened:

Everyone is wearing identical north face jackets here and I think I missed a memo or something.

Do you love a sudden magical thing in a story, a book or, in this case an exhibition?

This was in a tiny exhibition about the rise of Nazism I saw yesterday at the CaixForum in Madrid.

I have no idea what it is or how it works. But it was a magical moment for me amid the grim reality.
