George Orwell warned us about Big Brother. Now AI doesn’t just watch – it predicts, nudges and shapes us. A new study calls it “technofascism”: where Big Tech, surveillance capitalism and illiberal politics quietly erode democracy.

Technofascism: AI, Big Tech, and the new authoritarianism
In the shadow of the fascism of the 1930s, George Orwell wrote 1984. A new study suggests that his world is closer than we want to think

A long read but worthwhile… Govs have to deal with AI wisely.
“Of course, AI may be just part of the story. A weak economy and Rachel Reeves’s £26bn tax raid on employers are also driving companies to rethink their staffing needs.”

Shameful UK!
“But dual nationals will, for the first time, be obliged to show their British passport to travel to the UK or pay what many believe is a punitive price of £589 for a “certificate of entitlement” to attach to their second nationality passport in order to board a flight, ferry or train.”

A good 'summary' of history that is worthwhile a read and remember by @chartalist.bsky.social. England's exploitative relationship with Scotland.

A must read from @jamesbfg.bsky.social

“We cannot rely on media monopolies to paint an honest picture of where we live or where the greatest threats lie. […] Citizen journalism is one such route. It gives us a voice to counterbalance divisive narratives and bypass the mainstream media”

This is what I call real leadership, something rarely seen nowadays. Every single word is very worthwhile to pay attention to. The Green grosser analogy is perfect. A good lesson to our PM in the UK and to many others. Don’t accommodate, don’t avoid trouble. Live the reality.

This must never be allowed to be forgotten. Ukip/reform/NF must be reminded of this every time they campaign/interview/go out in public.
🇷🇺 "MEPs of UKIP opposed a resolution in 2008 condemning Putin’s invasion of Georgia. Farage also opposed a resolution in 2011 which criticised the conduct of elections in Russia that were widely regarded as rigged."

Farage has always had a soft touch to Putin.
