Ai text detectors worry me. Firstly, as here (apologies for the X post), they produce false positives. Secondly, I dislike the idea of putting my (or anyone else’s) writing into such a detector, because I’m not entirely convinced it won’t be used to further train something somewhere.

Good writing has Low Perplexity (it flows well). The detector's logic: "This is too coherent to be human." It's an insult to human intelligence disguised as a security tool.

The Lemkin Institute has no more words. We have warned of genocide in Gaza since October 13, 2023. It was clear then and is clear now. Israel is committing genocide. The US is complicit. They must be stopped.
