This is cool & similar to other infant care & feeding measures (suckling, kiss feeding), which in chimpanzees are overwhelmingly led by infants themselves & rarely by mothers, whereas in humans it's flipped: caregivers initiate interactions most. www.science.org/doi/full/10....
The evolution of infant-directed communication: Comparing vocal input across all great apes
Human infants receive more directed communication than other great ape infants, indicating that it evolved alongside language.

Manboys can't be trusted with tech. They want their mommies to take care of everything. This extends to getting mommies who look exactly like them is scary
This makes me think of the creepy Black Mirror episode where people make a copy of their consciousness that is then trapped and enslaved to be their personal digital assistant.

Being a primatologist, if one is not political then I guess we need to relook at who we are

Even with a full time job I find @Behaviour2025 to be way out of my budget happening in my city. Anyone else facing the same?? I really hope students get to go to this great conference because if they can't afford here at home, it is evil to think that they can afford anywhere else. #inclusivity??

Israel guided 1.5 million Palestinians into Rafah. They moved the "safe zone" further and further south, until Rafah was all that was left. Now they're bombing Rafah, and people have nowhere to go, nowhere to flee. It's genocide.

Israel strikes Rafah refugee camp, 37 killed, local health officials say
Israeli strikes on Gaza's southern city of Rafah killed 37 people and wounded dozens, local health officials said on Monday, after U.S. President Joe Biden told Israel not to attack Rafah without a credible plan to protect civilians.

This is monstrous. “A house on the beach is not a dream”

An company from #Israel who specialises in Jewish housing in Occupied Palestine is already promoting a house on the beach over the ruins of #Gaza.

Settler-colonialism on the back of ethnic cleansing of #Palestine.

Monstrous.
