Hello 👋🏾

I spent two decades working in public service, progressive politics, and social impact. After my twin(ish) kids were born in 2023, I decided to take a step back from work but not from “the work.”

My mission remains the same: inclusion of all, participation by all and opportunity for all.
There is a name for this: P.E.P. It stands for Progressive Except for Palestine.

And it is insane.

In 1994, Tatiana Castro Abuchaibe was crowned Miss Colombia after giving this answer to the final question.

I’m moved by her words. But what sticks with me is the immediacy of her response, how obvious the right answer was to her. 1/2

I saw the video. Have you? Have you heard that boy screaming in pain and terror? Do you need to see and hear it in order to feel something – in order to say something?

Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde deserves the praise she’s receiving for a sermon she delivered on Tuesday at the National Cathedral. She spoke to President Trump as he, his family and senior members of his admin sat before her. She asked for his mercy on LGBTQ people and on undocumented immigrants. 1/3

Friends, Romans, countrymen: lend me your ears. I come here to praise Carter, not to bury what he stood for and what he fought against.

As we mourn the passing of President Jimmy Carter, I’ve been moved by the many thoughtful tributes being shared on social media. 🧵

President Obama’s statement stood out to me because he included this:

My first job out of school was a fellowship in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Under President Clinton, I staffed a groundbreaking commission tasked with improving the well-being of millions of underserved Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders. 1/5

I joined the DNC after we lost the popular vote in ‘04. We began with lessons learned, most importantly this:

Dems don’t win by telling folks who or what to vote against. We must give the people something to vote for, a set of values more than a person.

As we rebuild, I choose to start there.
