The author M. L. Rio recommends eight books for readers who crave intrinsic momentum and a lot of plot, be it a ticking time bomb or a freaky psychodrama.

Last year my partner and I watched 117 noirs from the 1940s and 1950s. It was great, we're still watching them this year as well. However, I decided that the end of the year was a good time to put down some thoughts on noir and to recommend a few great ones: www.stuartellisgorman.com/blog/la-bell...
La Belle Film Noir — Stuart Ellis-Gorman
I’m not sure exactly when I first became obsessed with Film Noir. It may have been when I took an Introduction to Film Studies course in second year of university, but I had seen several noir classics...

Every time I remember the 28th Virginia Battle flag I feel compelled to remind non-Minnesotans about it.

Captured by MN troops at Gettysburg. Virginia has asked for it back MANY times, and all governors (of all parties) have refused and told them to fuck off.

The Minnesotan intifada has my support.

At this time, I’ve been thinking about folks who are scared and who cannot flee to safety for one reason or another. We have a word for resisting through persistence: sumud. Staying and taking care of your community is a valiant cause.

We escaped the ice and have been science hard for 2 days - four full stations and a big factorial experiment setup! Very tired but very happy to be working. We caught Antarctic krill at one station, and lots of salps at all stations. Love the Green krill guts full of phytoplankton! #oceanography 🌊🇦🇶🦐

And yes, it's reasonable to ask what Putin could possibly have on him that would enable such coercive power. But it doesn't take a lot of imagination to come up with an answer.
It's not that hard folks. Putin ordered Trump to destroy the U.S. from the inside. And that is precisely what he is doing.

🙌 After a 7-year legal ordeal, humanitarian workers wept with relief when a court on the Greek island of Lesbos acquitted all 24 defendants who had been baselessly charged with felonies for saving lives at sea.

The Greek government should always prioritize saving lives.
