Identity:

If you immigrated from China to Taiwan with the KMT, you identify with being Chinese.

If you immigrated earlier and was colonized by imperial Japan, you identify more with being Japanese.

If Taiwan was always your ancestral lands, the Hoklo, Hakka, and Weishenren forced assimilation.

So I bought some RDDT. Like a lot. Time to #YOLO my retirement.

Obviously not financial advice.

IMO, they're shaped more like FB than SNAP or PINS.

Contemplating gambling my retirement on some RDDT stonks because some AEO report shared with AdWeek spooked some investors/bots.

Post in question. Yup checks out. It's a list.

Your voice is a highlighter for AI. Use audio bolding:

1. Enunciate: Speak key terms and brand names clearly.
2. A short pause before and after a main point acts like a "comma" or a "period" for the AI.

The cadence of speech influences the tokenization. Check out this article on the topic:

No rate cuts = brutal. AI really kills the unit economics of SaaS in growth.

Clicked on a video about Alex Schultz (FB, growth) talking to a bunch of Stanford students, had to deal with the snow...and I come back to find that YT decides to play this in a series of weird twist an turns -> www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIYG...

What a weird algo.

Late to the news cycle but apparently the US is doing a new food pyramid?

www.myplate.gov

The original one was created by lobbying groups so uh, this is just more of the same.

Sister's a nutritionist - Eat a "rainbow" of foods in moderation. Diversity + balance = healthy diet.

Skip this junk.

Today feels like a good day to sell WMT.

I thought we'd hit a recession.

I thought de minimus was going to hurt dollar stores and their distribution (they haven't been doing well) and the eventual victor of it in the US would be Walmart.

I'm so wrong. DLTR is up 90%. YoY.

Wrong but winning.

Some general advice I have about navigating your kids with your parents or in-laws. Your circumstances will vary:

1. Your parents will likely never see a therapist, but you can.

Therapists can help you become more mentally resilient and emotionally aware. These are skills and not innate!

One moment I'm looking at times pub_date, the next moment? The leap second.

It's been a while since I've gone down an internet rabbit-hole. I wonder if kids still get that experience with chat.

My kids grew up using clunky android tablets, got hooked to ipads but reliant on chromium browsers.

It has been funny seeing them struggle with iOS on a desktop.

For me it doesn't matter.

It's like how QSR tex-mex food is just the same ingredients wrapped in different carbs.

For them it does.

Bracing for a sad year this year.

My grandmother (93) is now roughly 30kg~66lbs.

It's going to be especially tough for my mother (primary caregiver) who has committed to her care for the past decade with Alzheimer's.

For something totally different, here's how I was raised by my grandmother:
