Bad Bunny’s performance began in the plantation, featured broken electric poles, and ended by centering a hemispheric understanding of “América”—among many other things—and some Anglo journalists are like “his performance wasn’t political.”

This is why we need to be telling our stories.

I'm going to do a thread of all the references and context behind Bad Bunny's performance and what it means for Puerto Ricans to see this on the biggest stage.

The opening title screen is a street mural in Puerto Rico that comes to life with footballs as coconuts.

At the core of almost every essay like this, is the entitlement that every gay event needs to be centered on something they want. Like the circuit life style just isn’t for me, and that’s okay. I encourage my sisters to do what makes them happy while I lift my little weights and roll my little dice

On a similar note, as Mamdani continues to notch W after W you’re going to start seeing opinion pieces about how this could never work in any city other than New York, etc., etc. Do not engage! It’s just entrenched power bullshit and that’s all! Don’t let them make that a conversation!

The best things the government can do are:

1. to start enforcing our anti-trust laws,

2. to reform our corporate governance laws in ways that favor small investors, and

3. to reform our tax code in ways that benefit lower and middle income taxpayers at the expense of the uber wealthy.
