#AnneLister and #AnnWalker celebrated their anniversary each year on February 10, often with the recurring tradition of plum pudding and wine.

These journal excerpts from 1835 to 1840 offer us a glimpse into their ritual, which had a remarkable way of softening tensions and stirring connection.

Anne Lister didn't think much of this tower at Chatsworth, Derbyshire - it "put us in mind of warehousing" when she visited with Ann Walker in 1835 (it had been erected since her visit there with Mrs Lawton in 1825).
