Remembering former warehouseman George Barker, son of John and Mary Naylor, and husband of Ruth Ann, who died aged 34 years on this day in 1878. Buried with his son John William, who died 3rd February 1871, aged 2 years and 11 months.

The last resting place of Sarah and Edward Scholefield. Sarah died in 1909 aged 72 and Edward two years later aged 82.

Remembering Lance Corporal Gilbert Swift Greenwood, 10th Bn., Duke of Wellington's (West Riding Regiment), who died #OTD in 1918, aged 31. Gilbert was buried at Giavera British Cemetery & commemorated on his parents gravestone at Lister Lane Cemetery.

Remembering Hiles Thompson (née Wood), wife of William Trolly, who died 1st January 1882 at the age of 67. William, who was employed as a porter survived her by 7 years.

The graves outside Farfield Quaker Meeting House in West Yorkshire at first seem rather confusing: one grave calls January the eleventh month and another calls June the fourth month. However, this wasn’t an error or a simple mistake.

Remembering Barrett & Elizabeth (née Townsend) Heaton, who died within three days of one another in December 1879. Elizabeth known as Betty, died 28th, aged 78 & Barrett, died 31st, aged 72. Barrett formerly a carpet weaver & latterly a beerhouse keeper. Interred together on 2nd January 1880.

Remembering Mary Ann (née Longbottom), wife of Abraham Shaw, who died on this day in 1874 at the age of 50. Abraham, was employed as a wool carder, he predeceased Mary Ann on 10th September 1858, aged 32 years. Although commemorated on the headstone he was buried at Salem Chapel.
