Big day for the understanding of the #AtlasNetwork in Australia. Thanks to Gareth Hutchens and the ABC for publishing the story (and the namecheck 🫣).
You can’t understand the last 50 years of Australia’s history (closer to a century in quieter ways) without this.

Brilliant speech & analysis. Carney is what future leaders will be.
Thank God he’s lighting the way!
Meanwhile @albomp.bsky.social will be one of the examples used on what a failed Prime Minister looks like. A PM who had such a strong mandate & betrayed the people who voted for him twice.🧵

“The old order is not coming back.” In a major speech, Canada’s PM Mark Carney argues middle powers must stop pretending the rules-based order still works – and build strength at home while forming issue-by-issue coalitions to resist economic coercion.

“Take the sign out of the window” – Carney on power, coercion and middle states
Speaking at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos, Mark Carney argues the rules-based international order is in rupture, not transition – and that “middle powers” must stop performing compliance and start building shared resilience. His speech – reproduced here – calls for values-based realism, domestic strength and new coalitions to reduce coercion and preserve sovereignty.

Culture war summer: petitions, outrage and the politics of 26 January
Right-wing campaign groups and Coalition MPs are again using Australia Day to drive petitions, wedge politics and anti-elite rhetoric. This year’s campaign is being amplified by paid digital ads, ARC grant outrage and calls to “legislate the date”.

Best of 2025: Private schools routinely blame inflation for rising fees – but indexation shields them from most cost increases while widening the resource gap. The inflation myth keeps private school privilege intact. #AusPol #Education #Schools #Inequality #Inflation #PublicPolicy
Best of 2025 - The inflation myth propping up private school privilege
Private schools regularly blame inflation for rising fees, yet funding arrangements mean they are largely compensated for cost increases. Their fee-setting power widens the resource gap while feeding back into inflation itself.

Best of 2025 - Why the trauma community must break its silence on Gaza
As Gaza reels from unimaginable physical and psychological harm, the global trauma healing community has remained largely silent. Breaking that silence is essential if therapeutic work is to remain honest, ethical and grounded in the reality clients bring into the room.
