The AFR's attack on the changes to how super will be taxed is glorious. In this example, they cite someone going from a super balance of $3.5m to $4m.

And having to pay $18,750 (3.75%) in tax on that $500,000. "Ouch"

They also make it clear the person did NOTHING to earn an extra $500,000

Here’s some stats for numpties who say that Welcome to Country ceremonies are a waste of money..

“Lib Party gave more $$ to anti-Welcome to Country hate group “Advance” last financial year than Fed Govt spent on the Indigenous ceremonies over its entire 3-year term”

This is what a rigged economy looks like:

In the 1970s, CEOs made 27 times more than the average worker.

In the 1980s, CEOs made 48 times more than the average worker.

This decade, CEOs are making 354 times more than the average worker.

That has got to change.

FALSE. The fastest growing homeless group ISN’T women aged 50+. It’s women in their prime working ages (35-44) and children. Sadly, census data offers the most comprehensive measure of homelessness and the latest data is from 2021. Australia’s homelessness crisis is undercutting the future of us.

LNP leader Dutton: ‘I’ll abolish Free TAFE’s & implement technical schools to teach trades’

The ‘T’ in TAFE stands for ‘Technical’ & it’s where you currently get qualified for trades.

Fucknuckle’s surely trying to lose😂

I beg to differ. This is curated failure. open.substack.com/pub/jesspipe...

I realllllllllly don't think mainstream Australia understands just how dangerous this clamp down on the unis is.

I am wayyyyyyyyy more scared of this than fucking Chinese boats or African gangs or Terrorists from derkastan or whatever I'm meant to be freaking out about about
America under Trump is assiduously destroying its universities on a false premise of fighting antisemitism; our own universities are at risk of doing it to themselves. Either way, a society without academic freedom is not free at all.

Charles, King of Canada, standing up for that nation by wearing his Canadian medals and planting a maple tree.

In other words, doing fuck all.

Because heads of state don’t do anything.

Has the King of Australia said a word of support for our nation following US antagonism?

Not even a gum tree.

You don't often see the desire for more people to be out of work stated so blunty.

Also in this op-ed Hogan says the cash rate should have gone to 5%.

Some people *really* wanted a recession.

Just re-upping this again because the Temu Trumps in the LNP insist on bringing every culture war here: the Morrison govt spent $20.8bn on consultants in its final year - the equivalent of 54,000 FT public servants. The private sector benefits with govt cuts. No one else.

My latest. The Albanese govt's reforms are not being given the credit they deserve. The focus group-driven mantra of a ‘do nothing’ govt cannot be sustained if our erstwhile political commentators bothered to look at what the govt has actually done #auspol johnmenadue.com/mainstream-m...
