The discussion of trans people in the media is like they're extraterrestrials, a mysterious and potentially sinister force about whom little is known. Do they fly? Can they read minds? Who knows! There's no one to ask! Nothing we can do but broadcast the worst people making up lies about them.
And it's not just CNN. It's CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, NYT, WaPo, etc. Trans people are completely iced out of mainstream media. If trans rights are going to be a constant topic of debate, its journalistic malpractice to not give trans people a voice.

Why create a fourth?
