I think this is the answer I'm looking for regarding Gaiman. A line has been drawn, and while his works are a part of me, nothing else will be moving forward.

Skeleton Crew absolutely captures the essence of the original Star Wars in a way that very little has since the original trilogy. I'm glad this season was a one off, I hope they will make more shows like it!
