Curious about average flow rate for Meanwood Beck (EA just measures level). Mean velocity is easy (pingpong ball, tape measure, watch), but I can't figure out how to get average width * depth for this (irregular) stretch (channelled bit at Sheepscar would be a doddle...)

Our local library service has lots of culture-critical fictional & non-fictional fluff about algorithms, but afaik nothing on their design & implementation. Plain weird. Also, they have got rid of Professor Branestawm.
