Other team, in tones of utmost despair: There's only decaf left in the kitchen.
Me: I think we've got some normal tea in the drawer.

Other team: Oh they've got YORKSHIRE.

Long ago, on different continent, a sibling had an (hobby) astronomy programme where you could go back/foward in time and it would show you the position of the heavenly bodies.

That sort of thinking is NOT how you get a PM who is bested by a lettuce.

Wait, what. Is EVERYTHING in the US just ridiculously overpriced now (I moved to the UK a long time ago). Like we got a whole new slate roof put on for less than £10,000 a few years ago.

Spouse was writing an email and needed a better word, so I rattled off several alternatives.
Me: See, you don't need AI, you've got a live-in thesaurus. 😀

In the UK our supermarket eggs all get a little stamp to show the hens have been vaccinated against salmonella (even my fancy shmancy organic ones).

#WritingCommunity I was reading a book at lunch break and a man asked me if it was the author's newest. I had no idea, so flipped to the copyright date. It wasn't new, but the guy did mention some of the other books by said author. Been a while since that happened.

No Netflix, but just finished Old Fashioned Cupcake, where desperately smitten man does his best to woo very adorable but incredibly oblivious man.

A few years ago I realised that the UK is a modern Silk Road outpost and outlier, at least for food, b/c I can find almost all these things, plus Indian subcontinent Asian, Polish, etc in my national chain supermarket in my unremarkable Northern Town. THEN there's the specialty markets.

Oh boy is that gonna be fun, b/c the Mayor of Milan doesn't even like the homegrown fascists (google "same sex marriage" and "mayor of Milan").

Minor point, but just because a job is important doesn't preclude the possibility that it is, in fact, a shit job.
