A centralized referral system means less time waiting and less time wondering. It helps patients get seen faster by connecting them to the next available specialist. It also allows doctors to spend less time navigating red tape and more time focused on care.
Canadians are still facing growing wait times for priority surgeries, even though the backlog caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has effectively been cleared, according to national data.
