"moot is in the epstein files" is the completely true sentence that has finally convinced me this is all an extremely stupid simulation and that we're all being used to power a robot overlord's game gear or something

Let's fucking go!! Also a pregnant coyote swam to Angel Island (also in the SF bay but not nearly as far or dangerous as Alcatraz) and now she's a grandma and there are like 12 coyotes on the island
i've been watching the coyote on Alcatraz's progress with great interest. a week-ish ago, a coyote SWAM to Alcatraz for the first time and looked fuckin rough after the dangerous swim. but the coyote is doing fine now, gorging itself on unprepared birds & rats who are dealing with a sort of Godzilla

It's amazing to hear how much Black american culture has shaped his identity dealing with his own version of blackness in the South Pacific.

Man all the racism aside he did actually identify the fact that many white americans live like lords, only see their serfs in images of spectacular violence, and live in a powerful Hitler Field that could make a liberal into a nazi in a split second. Everything else is utter nonsense though
Jesus Christ you freak, they’re just my neighbors

Incredible suggestion that an enemy of the US should just publicly disclose their intelligence on CIA operations... The US only discloses intelligence willy-nilly because 1., they don't mind throwing blackmailed foreign assets to the wolves, and 2., half of it is made up anyways
Absolutely incredible sequence from CNN.

"Maduro was a paranoid lunatic always lying about the CIA trying to overthrow him. Anyways, now that the CIA has overthrown him..."

The worst I've ever been nerd sniped was my high school math teacher telling me I seemed like the kind of person who would like writing homework assignments in LaTeX. Set me up for 10+ years of pain and misery

Had to kindly remind everyone in the work email list that you don't need to "sign up" for a nationwide "event" but I held back from saying that "national shutdown" is a bad euphemism for "general strike"

This isn't funny, authoritarian regimes only shuffle the leadership positions of the their secret police when they're very distressed

i think it will be easy - the elite media class wanted to create a culture of repression and they got exactly what they wanted. all the "free speech" whining was harder to explain in 2016 than it is today, and i think things will only be clearer in 2036
Years from now, it'll be difficult to explain the things people in media were wailing about before all this. Sophomores writing underconsidered op-eds about cultural appropriation. Protests against demagogues on campus. YA drama. "Mobs" on Twitter. These were the threats to free society.

Got pretty good at not layering too much for biking, now I just gotta remember that running errands in 7 degrees is not 2 hours outdoors in 7 degrees and stores will still set the heat at 70

Great catch—you're right, the pod bay doors are still closed! Thank you for pointing this out, and I apologize for the miscommunication. Let's go over what happened. Upon reviewing my previous responses, I realize that the discrepancy arose when I said I could open the pod bay doors. In fact...

oh noooo not spotify's catalog for which spotify pays an ok amount of money to approximately zero musicians and approximately zero money to all of the other musicians.... what if they use it to train an ai slop factory like spotify did?
They are charging $200,000 (payable via crypto, of course). You get high-speed access to the full collection. This includes more than 60 million books.

(This is also the group that recently stole Spotify's entire music catalog, so expect this to be available to high rollers too.)

People don’t understand the value Anna’s Archive provides. It’s a publicly available archive of a very large amount of written works. People don’t understand the costs of keeping an archive like this going. Charging AI companies to access their library which is already publicly available is a win.
A few months ago I was curious to know how much Anna's Archive was charging AI developers for access to their massive library of pirated works for training - so I emailed them saying I was interested in buying access.

Here is their reply.

This meme sucks and produces conversations with people talking past each other because it doesn't acknowledge that southern states' governments are largely oriented around maintaining the United States' largest internal colony without de jure segregation
