I won't say issues like LGBTQ rights, immigration, etc. are "distractions," but I think a lot of hate is engineered by the ruling class to keep us fighting each other. Look at what Elon did to Twitter - it's now split into two "echo chamber" platforms of people who despise one another.

My pre-transition self is just me, as a child. Unfortunately there's a massive gap in my life between childhood and today - a period of time that, in a sense, was a bit like being comatose. My past self isn't "dead" though, and I'll never use the term "deadname." For me, it's "Name, emeritus." 🤪

I'm not much of a birder, but I do find myself taking a lot of photos of them. TIL the trumpeter swan was extirpated in Michigan in the early 1900s, and only reintroduced in the 1990s. They're still considered "Vulnerable." These were a welcome sight compared to the usual invasive mute swans.
