I was a weird child. Now I’m a weirder adult.
Dunno what kind of reach this will get, but does anyone have any recommendations for soft dog treats? My poor food-motivated elder pooch had a lot of teeth extracted yesterday and I don’t want to risk oral injuries.

Dog tax included.

”So come make your own mind and use your own eyes
You see what they're doing and know it ain't right
And there ain't nothing wrong with us wanting to fight
There is a resistance that grows every day
From following blindly to leading the way…”

I've been representing protesters pro bono since Trump 1.0. In that time, I've represented protesters against the Muslim ban, ICE, trans bans, DEI bans, genocide in Occupied Palestine, police brutality, and more.

Want to know why more people don't protest? Here's why.

I live between a major road and rail tracks. In extreme weather, both get unusually silent, which is simultaneously my favorite and the most surreal time to live between two active transportation avenues.

But my new favorite happened today: watching someone snow-mobile their way down the highway.

For all the times I’ve changed my mind about a person, I never thought Paris Hilton would be someone I come to regard more respectfully. Look up some videos of her testifying in court, and then be in awe of how quickly she drops the ditz act and becomes an eloquent, impassioned woman.

We all get to exist at the same time as this amazing asshole, who’s the most beautiful and perfect mammal on four legs regardless of how much he thinks both parents WFH because Our Dogchild of Perpetual Needs requires constant attention.

You might've heard that Mpls public schools went hybrid bc so many families are in hiding. Well, a coworker just told me that today, during his kid's hybrid class, a kid's apt building was raided onscreen

Having a heeler means that you are pointing out every. single. Bluey holiday decoration to the dog who did not sign up for Mom ruining walkies with peals of “Buddy, look! Bluey! JUST LIKE YOOOOOUUU!!!”

Best part of working with Scandinavians is that December meetings start with A Very Metalcore Christmas Playlist.

If you’ve had a career where you keep getting unwanted responsibility heaped on you because other people routinely mistake your anxiety for ambition and it has burned you the fuck out, I heartily recommend returning to non-managerial roles. You are going! to! love! not being needed every 15 minutes.

I stopped keeping track of Santa Lucia Day decades ago, and was delighted to find out that it coincided with my first attempt at making spritz cookies.

Hey, Siri, is my seventh day of employment too soon to send my editor-in-chief a mid-huddle link to Bigfoot smut?

I have greeted my first fully WFH job with an office chair made specifically for people who can’t sit normally and what is essentially a human-sized dog pillow, and this might be the closest I’ve ever been to knowing true professional joy.

I came home from my last day of the job I’ve been trying to quit for three years to my house smelling of a goddamn feast and the windows thrown open to welcome in a beautiful spring day in November.

Shit has been really, really hard for, like, the past two years. I forgot I could be this happy!

Me, before listening: Hey, Lily Allen’s new album has a track with my name!

Me, a person who thinks every meeting will be Something Bad, after feeling scolded for a song and a half: … oh.

Oh no.

Oh nooooooooo.

hit me with your recommendations for excellent trans adult fiction by trans authors? Stag Dance and RCBG have been rattling around in my head since I read them and I and want to read more trans stories that aren't memoir or aimed at young readers!

My proudest internet moment is introducing a portmanteau for ”spare parent” to more than 22k people who also seem to understand what it’s like being your beloved dog’s least favorite housemate.
