This slim, fascinating, stunningly beautiful and deeply human novel has given me solace in this disorienting, immoral and fraught time.

“Violence against women is a toxic online culture that allows young men to feel entitled to women's attention and to react with violence when they don't get it, leading to a 14-year-old girl in NDG recently being stabbed in the face for rejecting a boy's advances.”

Gender-based violence is an everyday reality, and it starts with minimizing misogyny
As we highlight 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence and the upcoming anniversary of the Montreal massacre, can we take a moment to reflect on all the different forms this violence takes?

Go for it Donald.
Trump is crushing the American farm belt. MAGA farmers have had a disastrous year from disappearing markets and the tariff war.
Adding a severe tariff on fertilizer will wipe them out.

Finland ended homelessness with a housing first strategy that gave people apartments before they secured employment

Now they’re proposing a 4 day work week and 6 hour work days

True work life balance

Meanwhile in the US, people work two jobs and can’t afford food or healthcare.

Thank you, @leahgazan.bsky.social! We need a public option for food and groceries to take on the big chains that are gouging us at the till.
People across Canada know that the Liberals’ back door deals with CEOs haven’t made groceries any cheaper.

We need bold responses to price shocks caused by extreme weather and corporate gouging. When will the government act and deliver on a public option for food?

The Polytechnique massacre wasn't just a mass shooting — it was a mass femicide. The gunman explicitly targeted women and blamed feminists for the troubles in his life. We must fight like hell to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Don’t you dare forget their names.

The Alberta government's harmful two-tier healthcare bill is in front of the Legislature now. And they are cutting off debate early to avoid scrutiny and allow them to leave on early holiday vacation.

We need to show them Alberta is paying attention.

We have to defend and promote Universal Public Healthcare before it's too late.

Today would be a great day to ban ALL elected officials from trading stock, don't you think?

Grid bottlenecks aren’t a failure of the energy transition — they’re proof it’s working.

Renewables got cheap fast, and now the grid has to catch up. Time to build the wires for the clean energy system we already have.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?
