I’ve had to fire up an old laptop and I came across the reviews for my first solo EPSRC bid. I got two reasonable scores and then the third was scored 1 (out of 6), with some of the most brutal criticism I’ve ever had #academiclife #academia

The biggest cultural difference I’ve noticed between the UK and France on my recent travels is the extensive Manga collection in the majority of French supermarkets.

I think a lot of sales people overestimate the buying power of an individual academic. It is flattering that they might think I have the ability to buy an entire cloud security solution for a whole university
