Everyone has a story in academia about horrible reviews and it’s largely accepted as a rite of passage. It shouldn’t be. There are ways to give feedback without being unkind.

It felt terrible. I took it really personally at the time and it shattered my confidence for months. I did manage to get aspects of that work funded in several grants but it was a horrible experience.

This is really interesting, would love to chat about this sometime from a privacy and trust perspective
