Writing a young adult dystopian novel, building a food-forest, riding horses. My household contains four generations of family and most days we all still like each other. Lover of big ideas and democracy. Prone to quoting LOTR and Taylor Swift.

I spoke with Betty. She was very emotional and asked me to tell you that “she would love to give each one of you a great big hug.” We’re so close to changing her life. If you can give $5 or $10, it would be awesome. If not, I completely understand, but a repost is free. Thanks very much.
I’ve only posted one GFM, and it’s my intention never to post another. But this one is close to my heart. I know the family personally and have visited with them countless times. If you can help out, it would be great. If not, I completely understand - but a retweet is free.

NEW: California now has nearly 17,000 megawatts of battery storage – reaching one-third of the way to our 2045 goal.

We're deploying more battery storage than any state in America, building a stronger grid, cutting pollution, and securing a safer future for our nation.

Some days the stupidity is so concentrated that I just feel like giving up on the idea of humanity.
The vast majority of homeowners with fire insurance never file a claim but we don't say fire insurance is a bad idea. Having the insurance *is* using the system. And I think that people actually understand this *because everyone needs health insurance*

Yes, there's one thing we all know from every high school movie ever is that standing up to bullies only makes them stronger.
Every single one of these fucks is corrupt.

Exactly. I know Dems are always gonna be Dems (I'm like this too so I get it) but Jesus help us, sometimes read the room.
And this is why I said Schumer's offer and then this vote were catastrophically stupid. They not only destroyed the leverage Dems had, it changed the headline from GOP cruelty to Dem weakness and ineptitude.
Great job, @schumer.senate.gov. You've changed the story from "GOP hurting millions of Americans to please unpopular, failing, delusional despot who's destroying his party" to "Dems are too weak and divided in the face of Trump's strength to take a stand and protect Americans"

Call, call, call. And share everywhere!
🚨 We’re hearing that Senate Democrats are on the verge of caving to Trump in another “Schumer Surrender.”

That means your Democratic senators need to hear from you right now.

Huge wins in NJ, NY, VA, PA, CA collectively indicate that a bold repudiation of MAGA politics has taken hold. An honest headline might read: “Democrats are in array”..The rending-the-garments, down-in-the-dumps attitude about party’s future is due for adjustment

This race is a microcosm of everything you need to know about politics in the United States. Can a hell of a good politician and charismatic person beat Big Money?
whatever you think about his policies, hard to deny that he is one hell of a talented politician

Dick Cheney did more than anyone else to build up expansive and destructive executive branch powers in the wake of 9/11; he lived to see another president turn those same powers against his own daughter.

He should be a warning sign to the GOP today but too many of them are in the cult.

I see that the United States' peculiar brand of Christian Nationalism includes judging the poor for needing SNAP benefits (judging is something Jesus said *not to* do) but not helping the poor with SNAP benefits (helping the poor is something Jesus told them *to* do).

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Jack Smith is requesting that Congress and the Justice Dept. let him testify in public.

In new letters to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, Smith says he wants to testify "in open hearings" because of "the many mischaracterizations" around his investigations.

Just stop this crap now. There is no comparison. And if there are more people on this one day, that just shows how few white people were brave enough (or non-racist enough) to show up in the 50s and 60s. Stop it.
Seeing people say that "by the numbers" Stancil is right about No Kings being bigger than the civil rights mvt. But no. That's not how any of this works.

It's like saying I'm a bigger organizer than Greta Thunberg because I'm taller. It's not technically true, it's just stupid.
