Why is SAI framed as the solution to the air pollution-cooling dilemma?

A student of ours modelled and found that temperature anomalies resulting from a reduction of China and India’s AQSLCFs under SSP3-7.0 might be negated by a 0.05% reduction in global carbon emissions!

Is SRM more realistic?
I have a new @nytimes.com guest essay w/ @davidkeith.bsky.social about sunlight reflection. We note its not a solution for climate change and at best a band aid to treat systems, and suggest if its ever done it should only be to replace the cooling from air pollution today:
Opinion | A Responsible Way to Cool the Planet
A small, carefully scaled geoengineering program could compensate for the loss of cooling as we eliminate sulfur pollution.

Direct Air Capture (DAC) without the hot air?

Interesting calculations on the mind-boggling scales involved if plans to mechanically capture and store CO2 from the atmosphere for global climate abatement are taken seriously.
