We need to stop shaming people in red states for not “just leaving”! Moving is hard, it means money and resources, finding a new job, and giving up family, friends, and community, finding somewhere affordable to live and new healthcare providers, etc. Not to mention, blue states have problems too.
Let me debunk this from the top! On one hand, you say it worked for your grandparents. But on the other hand, you acknowledge that this is not the right choice for everyone.
The price of living in blue states has skyrocketed in the last decade. Your grandparents did have to deal with that.
