Both apps are having issues this weekend. First it was Bluesky and now it is Mastodon. 503 errors on Mastodon are common though. Advantage for activitypub apps is that one outage does not interfere with other apps. Photo community pxlmo is still up

Both apps are having issues this weekend. First it was Bluesky and now it is Mastodon. 503 errors on Mastodon are common though. Advantage for activitypub apps is that one outage does not interfere with other apps. Photo community pxlmo is still up

Sorry no Apple magic. Too much credit to [company] until something happens. Same until my Macbook drive got corrupted and entire drive of files went missing including photos. Others have been reporting similar with Sonoma and Sequoia
Yeah I stopped believing any Linux distro could get major version upgrades right a long time ago.
I always just install on a new partition or disk and copy some stuff over.
I assume Apple are the only ones that have achieved this level of magic.

The host I wound up on, was never good about updating for new features. This is understandable, but also really annoying.
Also: discoverability was a true pain point, and search didn't work unless you used a hash tags. All deal breakers to me. I don't know if any of that has improved.
