Been on SSRIs for years but never experienced a heat wave like this and man…it’s true - you are quicker to get heat exhaustion on these babies.

The knee pads I used to wear for roller skating have now become my gardening knee pads, if you are wondering how close to 40 I am.

As a woman, I was raised to believe all of my emotions were hysterical and over the top. Now, as an adult, I second guess every time I get upset about something wondering if I’m being too dramatic or if someone has actually wronged me.

I don’t think it’s that much of a stretch to say that Vance had something to do with the Pope’s death….

Driving in St. Louis is like real life Mario Kart. The other drivers don’t care if they hit you and the road is filled with hazards - but instead of banana peels and shells it’s potholes and uneven pavement.

This is chilling. It is a national emergency. We are consigning this person to torture so Trump can further curry favor with Putin.
Kseniia Petrova, a Russian scientist at Harvard Medical School, was detained at Logan Airport after returning from France and sent to an ICE detention in Louisiana, The Insider reports.

A big critic of Putin and the war in Ukraine, she may now be deported to Russia.

Back in 2015 the Missouri History Museum in STL had one of the best exhibits I’d seen in some time about the power of propaganda. I found a write up about the exhibit that sums it up well. Maybe we need to bring exhibits like this around again. An educated public is harder to control.

I know there are decent Christians out there but this morning I couldn’t get out of my head the horrific things being done in the US that are being shielded behind some higher calling for god. Reread Matthew 25:40-45 and tell me where your savior fits in to all of this.

I don’t have much faith in our systems right now but that doesn’t stop me from regularly writing to my representatives telling them how ashamed I am by the state of our nation and their part in its decay.

Being a historian, people ask me if I think the US is living through Germany 1933.

I answer no, analogies are always imperfect but to me it feels more like Russia 1999: a blatant theft of state assets and liberals in a fugue state, refusing to believe the arc of progress is bending against them.

Everyone knows what happened here. Trump can only exist around people he can causally humiliate. Guys lie JD and Rubio. He wanted to do a ritual humiliation of Zelensky and Ukraine but Zelensky wouldn’t accept that and so Trump reacted like a stung bitch.
