P.S. It’s going to get VERY dark and ugly…much darker and uglier…before Humpty Dumpty has his great fall. We have more than enough fire in the gut to survive it, though, to be around and watch the fall. (There won’t be nearly as many of the King’s horses…or men..trying to…put Humpty together again;)

Church-run hospitals often deny birth control and reproductive care too. I know someone who couldn't get an IUD in Texas because her doctor was associated with a hospital that banned their doctors from providing IUDs.

Just because they virtue signal about immigrants doesn't mean they aren't fascist
U.S. catholic bishops criticizing Trump's crackdowns obscured that at the same conference they tried to make sure way more trans people die due to a lack of life-saving medical care.

Because trans people are also an overwhelmingly working class demographic that often faces oppression on multiple overlapping fronts (generational poverty, racism, xenophobia) this is a particularly horrific threat. Our lives are not easy and we need medical care in general a lot more often

What doesn't get highlighted enough: bans on trans care almost never end just at healthcare specific to us. They're often a cover for just refusing to treat trans people period, for anything.

Broken bone? Surgery complications? Infection? Bigoted medical institutions are happy to let us die.

Attacking a federal district judge as an “activist” for issuing a lawful ruling is an assault on judicial independence. A democracy cannot function when executive agencies denigrate judges for doing their jobs.

There is nothing “clean” about the Continuing Resolution that was passed tonight.

Sure, it reopens the government—but it does nothing to address the healthcare crisis that Republicans created.
