The problem is that when a subpar guy gets in — especially via committee — we can point to a few other guys at their position who were demonstrably better but can’t buy a spot on the ballot. If Jeff Kent getting in, all the more reason to be pissed off Lou Whitaker isn’t even up for election.
I have written about this recently, but the older I get, the more I don’t understand the want to keep borderline players out, only to posthumously enshrine them.
Let them have the joy and celebration that comes with the honor while they can enjoy it.

The Braves have signed RHP Elieser Hernández to a minor league contract and assigned him to AAA Gwinnett.
Hernández appeared in 90 MLB games over the course of five seasons with Miami before being traded to the Mets. The last two seasons he has pitched with LG Twins of the KBO.
