Woke up this morning with a screaming pain in my shoulder and upper back. Pulled it something fierce while I slept last night. Getting through today is going to be rough as heck. Here's hoping I don't somehow make it worse.

It baffles me sometimes that Alice and the Wizard of Oz both have, like, Tolkien-levels of world building through way more novels than you think and yet I have zero interest in going that deep into either property because they've both been so distilled over time it feels like it's not worth it.
Wife is watching an 1980's TV special of Alice in Wonderland she's seen plenty of times that had a scene with the Jabberwocky showing up and scaring Alice. I asked if Alice was going to get the vorpal sword and snicker-snack it. She looked at me like I was the weird one with 3 heads.

I hate this time of year. Well, love it and hate it. Love the weather and the rituals and all, but SAD always hits me super hard in November. Saps my will to do anything productive and all I can think about is who I'm perpetually letting down.

Sometimes I open X/Twitter as I still have a highly curated gaming news list there. Last time I checked it was almost a month ago. Realized that everything on my feed I'm mostly getting the news from elsewhere and needing to check is becoming less and less important. This is good.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

On my way home I stopped at the grocery store, too. Near the frozen waffles section this older dude, looking confused, holding a list, comes up to me and pleads "Belgian style?!" He had been standing there a while, hoping someone, anyone, would stop to help. I quickly helped him find his waffles. 😅
