Can I just say, @energyinnovation.org has the best communications and editorial team in the business. @silviomarcacci.bsky.social and @shannonstirone.bsky.social worked wonders turning my wonky ass prose into understandable, compelling narrative to make this piece shine.
The "Big Beautiful Bill" will spike consumer bills, cost America jobs, and threaten power supply shortfalls.

But smart states are moving quickly to accelerate deployment before tax credits go away.

Psyched to work with @oboylemm.bsky.social on this NYT column.

With clean energy tax credits rapidly expiring, states need to be more creative than ever to maximize these savings for consumers. That's why former Gov. Bill Ritter and I wrote this piece for @nytimes.com urging states speed up procurement of wind and solar energy www.nytimes.com/2025/08/15/o...

California could move quickly to enable 23 GW of renewables near existing thermal generators, in time for the projects to qualify for tax credits before they expire, says a think tank policy director. thanks @latimes.com for sharing my perspective on the opportunity for California to pull forward clean energy procurement and qualify for rapidly expiring federal tax credits. I hope other states can similarly act quickly to pull forward these savings. www.latimes.com/opinion/stor... #energysky

What do people think happens when you can't build gas any faster, you kill the more than 100
GW of planned solar, and load keeps growing? What new energy sources will we build? batteries charged by expensive gas and 50 year old coal plants that the owners want to retire? What the fuck. #energysky
