'Explosion of water voles' headline immediately makes me think of Urk Starkadder…
#ColdComfortFarm
'Mr Tansley said water voles were like "little mini beavers" who "create all of these little micro habitats that other animals can get into".'

These tiny hydrological engineers create homes for wildlife, + porous banks that help slow the flow, reducing flood + drought risk.
A project to protect river animals by eradicating mink has seen the East of England become the only place in Britain where water vole populations are increasing...

Spray paint a plane and they'll detain you without trial and call you a terrorist.

Kidnap a foreign head of state - and Keir Starmer will make it clear we've played no part in it but will wait for the scheduled press conference in a few hours before potentially condemning it

We need to pull back our relationships with the US, even more so after this

So who's next? Greenland? Taiwan?

Still waiting for the UK government's response to this despicable act, not of war, just blatant thuggery for gain. No doubt starmer will say something obsequious.

A good friend who was out before most of us tells me that R*pe Crisis Centres in the UK were accepting trans women victims in the 1990s.

They made a conscious decision to do so. So why have transphobes only started making a fuss over a quarter of a century later…?

I adore this.
It's Beardsley heroine stuff!
Now, we get to the promotional outfit of the #PalaisGalliera's Worth: The Inventor of Haute Couture exhibit- this 1896-7 tea gown for Countess Greffulhe. It is an interesting choice, and I'm not quite sure of the logic behind it, with all the other glamorous outfits in this

A 13thC gathering of the Apostles at St John the Baptist, Cold Overton.
It's suggested it depicts them gathering at the death of the Virgin and if correct then it's a rare survival.
Only fragments survive but it's not quite as 'poor quality' as Pevsner suggests.
