Bryan and his wife are both great people who quietly do great things for others. I’d love if #nukesky could band together to help one of our own.
Hi all. As many of you know, my kid is trans and is probably the most awesome person alive. I hate to ask, since I know we are luckier than most, but medical care in the US is a disaster & I can't cover this on my own. Please share & help Lou become the version of himself he wants to be. ❤️

We must remember the families who survived the U.S. bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and tell their stories. Listen to Sara Burkinshaw, granddaughter of a Hiroshima survivor, describe the power of storytelling in this Nukes of Hazard podcast episode.

Grateful for this ringing endorsement (and blaring warning alarm) from Henry Maar for the new Nuclear Times.
These Are Still Nuclear Times
Historian Henry Richard Maar III for Nuclear Times: “The entwined history of arms control and peace activism should remind us—we can stop and turn the clock back.”

‘Fat Boy’ the bomb unleashed on the people of Nagasaki had JANCFU stenciled on its nose. This stood for “Joint Army Navy Civilian Fuck Up.” @gregmitch.bsky.social (founding editor of Nuclear Times in 1982) weighs in on Gen. Groves’ callous war crime.
Was Nagasaki 'Necessary' or a War Crime, 80 Years Ago Today?
Greg Mitchell shows that “F**ing Up” civilians was the grotesque point of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki.

First: Hell no!

Second: We’ve been debating if Nuclear Times should cover nuclear disarmament adjacent issues like AI, autonomous weapons systems, etc. What do you think? Is this something you’d like to see coverage of in NT, or do you think it takes focus away from nuclear weapon issues?
The U.S. Army is testing a fully AI controlled ground vehicle near Russia.

It's called the ULTRA and runs on Overland AI’s proprietary OverDrive software, a system that’s designed to give AI full control over ground vehicles on the battlefield.
