The glorious weather has allowed us to carry out our first colony walkthrough of the season. An astonishing 91 Little Tern nests were counted, which is the highest count for the protection scheme (previous highest count of 70 in 1996). We're keeping everything crossed for a record-breaking season!

I have one space available on the 2025 Challenger Expedition to the continental shelf edge. The 2024 trip yielded Madeiran storm-petrels, barolo shearwaters, a fea’s-type petrel & much more, all in British waters. Sept 14th-22nd from Plymouth.

Sadly the weather will beat us with both the South Landing ringing demonstration and the guided walk cancelled.
Vismigging at Hunmanby gap is on -7.30am-9.30am and the FBO migration station shop in the living seas centre from 9am-12pm

Well working from home paid off today with a White tailed eagle added on to the house list. It was tracked down the coast and thanks to 30+ p/off buzzards telling me it was coming my way.
