It’s confirmed: Danielle Smith will force teachers back to work, using the notwithstanding clause against workers for the first time in Alberta’s history.

So when and where is the protest in YYC against the UCP's use of the notwithstanding clause to force teachers back to work?

I'm the airborne guy.
The Cabana Room was a faded beer room that gave space for kids to create a culture of resistance.
Singer Andrew Cash and I were later elected to Parliament. The only 2 MPs from the Westminster system to open for the Dead Kennedys and Violent Femmes.

Just heard @sarahbyyc.bsky.social on CBC West of Centre. So good to hear sane, reasonable, francophone (!), western conservative voices. It felt like you bared your soul a bit. Thanks!

At Auntie's Chinese Burger in Chinatown #yyc. Cool little spot, great food, cheap, friendly.

I'll admit it. I love Jesus.
I just don't like any of his so-called friends.
I was raised on a gospel that said we must help the poor, feed the hungry and fight for those in prison.
When I see a politician playing the religion card I know people are about to be fleeced.
I don't trust any of them.

So, @samreich.bsky.social I just got an email from @dropout.tv saying that prices were increasing slightly but mine wasn't, and I have a Very Important Question:

What if I /want/ to pay you more money?

Like, what if I really need even more of your amazing content?

Are you accepting investors?

@mark-carney.bsky.social, I'm a Liberal supporter and a supporter of your candidacy. I can't believe that you are allowing the comments by Mr. Chiang to stand. This may be a "teachable moment," but it's a lesson that he can learn outside the halls of parliament.

I just started working in downtown #yyc and was told by colleagues that our building is a bit of a "food desert." Folks, we're at the southern end of Chinatown.

Anyway, go check out Auntie's Chinese Burger on the lower level of Opulence Mall. They do great lamb crepes (jian bing).

This just gets worse and worse.
Today, we learned that the UCP government fired the entire AHS Board on the same day they were set to receive a report on shady contracts.

Now, new allegations point to political interference, corruption, and kickbacks at the highest levels. /1

This week, she'll make time for Ben Shapiro by flying to Florida to speak to the extremist far right. She wouldn't get on a plane to see Canada's premiers in person on Friday.

Now she casually floats a referendum on separatism, as if any regular Albertan is calling for that.

I'm old enough to know just how fragile this beautiful nation is, and I’ll be damned if I let a reckless, incompetent and unethical Premier undermine what we’ve built here together.

Albertans and Canadians deserve so much better than Danielle Smith.

Danielle Smith is Mark Carney's secret weapon
In a recent interview with far-right U.S. media site Breitbart, Smith handed Carney a gift-wrapped sledgehammer in the form of an admission that Pierre Poilievre would be "in sync" with Trump.

Reducing copyright length, eliminating patents, cancelling contracts with Musk, making US-owned companies ineligible for public sector procurements - even U.S. origin labelling rules.

In responding, we have many non-tariff options, because this isn't really a trade war - it's a shakedown.
What if our tariff response was:

1) make a point of not matching tariffs and say "if you want to raise prices on your people that's your business";
2) cancel every Trump trademark and Musk contract;
3) say we may choose to curtail energy and potash exports if they continue this unlawful trade war.

Americans are going to learn the hard way just how important government actually is in their lives.
Americans do not understand the incredible crisis consuming all components of their government at once. Thousands of jobs lost, projects on hold, desks unmanned, services stopped, basic safety neglected. Total chaos. Stuff is going to start breaking down, maybe catastrophically.
