Former GOP, currently Anti-MAGA, supports democracy and the values upon which the USA was founded. I may block you if I think you're a bot, bomb thrower or conspiracy believer.

Auchinloss for the win. The media and paid hack punditry continue to exult the occasional pushback against Trump/MAGA despite a long history of lockstep support for the worst of Trumpism. @repauchincloss.bsky.social
CNN: In the last couple of weeks or so, she's become kind of an ally on some issues. What do you make of this?

Auchincloss: No, John, she hasn't.

More MAGA throwing fecal matter on the wall in their efforts to try and stop a good government action.
BREAKING: Escalating the fight over Missouri’s GOP gerrymander, AG Catherine Hanaway posted on X that she has referred the grassroots referendum campaign to ICE, without providing evidence for her allegation that it is “employing illegal aliens.”

JB’s righteous response to Ald. Sigcho-Lopez and other complainers should be: TALK TO THE HAND. Focus on the doable during these troubled times of Trumpian lawlessness and corruption.

Too bad. That was the coolest thing I saw in Munich. Not the most poignant in a city full of history, but fun to watch.

The MAGA GOP is throwing everything at the fan to distract voters from the fact they have no plan and don't really care about addressing the cost of healthcare.

This article includes a discussion of the phony pardons of people convicted or indicted of state crimes related to his attempted coup. Unfortunately, by not mentioning that Trump has no authority to pardon state crimes it lends false legitimacy to them.
New in PN: The hysteria over Biden's pardons seems extra ridiculous now

"Trump has perverted the pardon power far beyond the most questionable actions of any other modern president, emboldening a diverse cast of crooked politicians and outright fraudsters in a new American age of corruption."
The hysteria over Biden's pardons seems extra ridiculous now
Trump's abuse of the pardon power makes everything else look like child's play.

This and the fact you don’t retreat immediately after scoring a major victory. You crush the morale of the folks. The other usual problem is that they needed to have better messaging. Trump had to be enjoying the dumb shit comment Sen. King made on Morning Joe. The Schumer snooze is horrible.
This is one of the reasons I said the Cave Caucus should have held out for at least a week, to make it clear Trump was unlawfully starving people.
As predicted in lots of places, including this morning's "One First," the extra 48 hours that the full Court bought for itself on Tuesday (by overriding Justice Jackson and extending her "administrative stay") was enough time for Congress to moot the SNAP case:

Is this a staff failure to identify and alert or another case where wimpy Sen Dem negotiators can't stand firm to MAGA malice?

Whoever the big money men are who give to the Senate Dems, they should force the caucus to watch this before every future caucus meeting.

MAGA gets more shit and Dems look like shit. This deal is looking worse as we go.
"The provision, tucked into a measure to fund the legislative branch, appears to immediately allow for eight GOP senators to sue over their phone records being seized in the course of the investigation by Jack Smith ... into the riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021." www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/u...
Spending Bill Would Pave Way for Senators to Sue Over Phone Searches
Republicans have voiced outrage that Jack Smith looked at G.O.P. lawmakers’ phone records surrounding the Jan. 6 attack. Legislation to reopen the government would allow them to sue for $500,000 each.

Folks have been working hard teaching people how to recognize MAGA GOP bullshit. The benefit of this training (or side effect for Schumer) is that people know this is S Dem leadership bullshit.
Durbin said critics of his vote “need to understand how the Senate works”

Schumer’s shot his wad and lost. I disagree Dems would get blamed if it went longer. The vibes were going against Trump. Tearing down East Wing, building ballroom and gilding the White House while people were suffering upset people. Now people won’t accept another shutdown knowing Dems quit.
MSNBC reported Schumer's office felt that the longer that shutdown went on, the more likely it was that people would start to blame the Dems.

My kingdom for Democrats that don't govern out of fear. I've said it before and I'll say it again: The American people are far braver than their reps.
