Are mental health conditions being over diagnosed as Streeting argues
ME/CFS warriors were told they were mad (pardon the technical terms) and then lo they ‘discovered’ we were sane! Now like Baldrick they have a plan by no money.

I would love to be in Kyiv when the last Russian leaves Ukrainian soil. Holy hell, what a nation-wide party will be held! Afterwards, in honor of the fallen and the legacy of Jimmy Carter, I would to strap on a tool belt and help rebuild.

If you’re looking for a great Christmas film and are a bit tired of the usual suspects, I recommend Remember the Night, a warm, funny, unusual Barbara Stanwyck/Fred MacMurray gem from 1939 that @sarahchurchwell.bsky.social introduced me to yesterday.

I’ve spent the last 18 months writing about the Roman Empire. In some ways, we’ve progressed immeasurably far in the last 1500 years. But there are still too many things about contemporary politics that I think would have felt all too familiar to them. I persist in my optimism that we can do better.

Redesigning my studio after the move, I had one rule:
The more often I use a thing, the closer to hand it should be.

I'm trying to minimize the need to get up, turn around, or search for things, which too often ruins my concentration.

It's my kinetic Strunk and White; omit needless motions!
