I had a part CT scanned back in 2019. ~$100 for the scan, which is reasonable since this is non-destructive vs. the time + destruction if I was to do this by hand.

It was an enlightening experience, and if you ever get the chance to do so - go for it!
You could also do this in 18mins. 22.5 if you are not concentrating.
Seriously consider taking 45 minutes out of your day (perfect for multitaskers) watch, or listen, to this from Hank Green. Multiple 💡💡 going on all at once. Answers many, many questions.

Intel “Optane” surplus 16GB NVME SSDs are <€4 on Aliexpress. Time to replace a couple Raspberry Pi boot drives!
(Apparently these can be fakes, but it’s better than MicroSDs, so I’m not complaining)

How many millions of MicroUSB connectors do we think TI is still sitting on?

Yay! So glad it’s on the continent this year!
Now I’m just hoping my residence permit will be renewed in time!

For no reason at all, I was looking at Paper Guillotines. (I can't find reasonably priced A7 paper here in Portugal)

This beast is 325 EUR... and weighs 17KG!

My thoughts exactly.
I need to do the work
I do not want to do the work
It is very very boring

The solution is Sublime text, or Notepad++.

You are welcome.
Look what they did to Notepad. Shut the fuck up. This is Notepad. You are not welcome here. Oh yeah "Let me use Copilot for Notepad". "I'm going to sign into my account for Notepad". What the fuck are you talking about. It's Notepad.

I was considering Milanote after being coaxed by a couple Youtuber sponsor segments, but then realised Apple Freeform exists.

It's 90% of Milanote at 0% of the cost. Helped me quickly clean up my tab mess and organise a few ideas.
Definitely worth considering if you need something similar.

My kiddo’s been struggling with anxiety since day one.

I’m not lying if I say what happened today would have blown my mind a year ago.

Super proud of this little guy.

Sine waves are the best waves.
Once you implement dimming against a sin() function, you won't ever use linear dimming again.

Speaking of... @jeffgeerling.com have you ever considered Tape storage as a project?

*kindly ignore my spelling.

In my mind, tape backups on good old casettes make so much sense. I don't* know why it's not a thing.

*I do, but I'd love to be dead-wrong. Tape storage could be an excellent home-backup solution, but it's SO expensive.
GenX kids will know the pain of needing just the right kind of pencil to rewind.

i have an enormous amount of respect for PCB fab workers. PCBs are ubiquitous and mostly invisible, but it takes a surprising and hard to understand amount of expertise to make them reliably at any scale and price, much less at the scale and price we're seeing

This is how you buy a Vidaa based "smart" TV and get the discount, minus all the ad nonsense.
Pihole to the rescue!
The funny thing is that Netflix is not even signed in, and has never been opened on the TV, but it's been hit 22000 times in the last 24hrs. (logs-netflix-com).
